Teqball was invented in Hungary, with FITEQ established as its governing body in 2017.

The Teqball and Para Teqball Cup will be staged at the Teq Arena, which is located at FITEQ's headquarters in Budapest.

It is due to take place on October 16.

A men's teqball doubles event, two Para teqball singles classes, and an inclusive doubles competition with teams made up of one teqball and one Para teqball player are all scheduled.

The singles and doubles Para teqball features the Para teqball sport class (PTBSC) 1 for players permanently requiring crutches, and PTBSC 2 for those with a prosthesis.

The inclusive doubles competition also includes two separate classes for PTBSC 1 and PTBSC 2 Para athletes.

FITEQ's President Gábor Borsányi is looking forward to the combined event.

"Since the launch of Para teqball, FITEQ has been supporting its National Federations develop the world’s newest Para sport in their respective countries," he said.

"We have seen excellent progress in a short space of time and our first combined event in Budapest next week is another major milestone on our journey.

"We truly believe that sport is for all, and through Para teqball we want to show the world that all athletes can compete and enjoy our sport together."

Para teqball was launched by FITEQ in March 2021, with its classification regulations undertaken by international experts to ensure they are acceptable to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Teqball combines elements of football and table tennis, being played on a curved table with players unable to use their arms or hands.

The Para teqball rules and regulations include some notable differences for the PTBSC 1 and PTBSC 2 classes.
