Hayata defeated eighth seed compatriot Saki Shibata in the semi-finals in a five-game thriller, beating her 11-7, 8-11, 11-9, 8-11, 12-10, while Shin defeated Japanese 16th seed Minami Ando 8-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-7.

Hayata won a second gold in the mixed doubles final with Shunsuke Togami, with the pair starting the competition as fourth seeds.

They won 6-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9 against South Korean second seeds Jang Woo-jin and Jeon Ji-hee to win gold.

In a full circle moment, Togami won a second gold medal today in the men's doubles with his second seed team mate Yukiya Uda.

Togami and Uda won 11-5, 11-9, 13-11 in the semi-finals against Indian seventh seeds Sharath Kamal Achanta and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, and were met in the final by fifth seeds Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon of South Korea, who defeated Indian sixth seeds Harmeet Desai and Manav Vikash Thakkar in five games 11-4, 11-6, 10-12, 9-11, 11-8.

In the final, Togami and Uda claimed gold with a 13-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-9 victory over Jang and Lim.

Action ends tomorrow with the men's singles and women's doubles finals.
