Energy Standard boosted their hopes of reclaiming the International Swimming League title with an impressive victory in match nine of the season.

There was no stopping the 2019 champions in Naples as they maintained their unbeaten run with their fourth win of the campaign.

Energy Standard clinched top spot in the Italian city after registering 568 points over 39 events.

London Roar were a distant second with 457.5 as Toronto Titans came third with 380.5 and DC Trident finished fourth with 357.

Evgeny Rylov was the star performer for Energy Standard, securing the most valuable player award after a hat-trick of individual wins.

The Russian backed up his victory in the men’s 200 metre backstroke yesterday with a success in the men’s 100m backstroke and men’s 50m backstroke skins.

He was also a part of Energy Standard’s victorious men’s 4x100m medley relay team.

Ilya Shymanovich, who was also part of that quartet, won all three breaststroke events.

The Belarusian won the men’s 50m and 200m breaststroke yesterday before coming out on top over 100 metres, before helping Energy Standard win the mixed 4x100m medley relay.

Energy Standard also profited from the impressive performance of Siobhan Haughey of Hong Kong, who claimed the women’s 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle crowns.

Team Iron, Tokyo Frog Kings, New York Breakers and Aqua Centurions are due to battle it out in match 10 tomorrow and Sunday (September 26).
