South Korea started the semi-final action in comfortable fashion, consolidating a 23-12 half-time lead and turning it into a dominant 46-21 win over Iran.

Japan followed up with a seemingly equally as dominant 38-24 win over Kazakhstan.

However, Kazakhstan trailed by just two points at half-time, 18-16, before falling away in the latter stages of the match.

Earlier in the day, Hong Kong beat Syria 34-24 and Uzbekistan beat Jordan 34-26 to set up a match to determine the fifth and sixth-place finishers.

Syria and Jordan will play one another to determine places seventh and eighth.

The tournament concludes tomorrow, with the seventh-eighth match, fifth-sixth match, bronze-medal and gold-medal match. 

Iran and Kazakhstan will compete for the bronze medal, before Japan and South Korea fight for the title.
