Medals have been decided in the sixth edition of the European Taekwondo Union President's Cup ©ETU

Medals have been decided in the senior competitions at the sixth edition of the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) President’s Cup in Istanbul, while hosts Turkey dominated the poomsae categories.

In senior action gold in the men’s under-54 kilograms category went to Russia’s Maksud Dadashov.

Silver went to Enes Kaplan of Turkey, with the joint bronze medals awarded to Samirkhon Ababakirov of Kazakhstan and Server Balaban of Turkey.

In the under-58kg category gold went to Adrian Vicente Yunta of Spain, with silver going to Dionysios Rapsomanikis of Greece.

Bronze medals were awarded to Ibragim Evloev of Russia and Ukraine’s Taras Malchenko.

In the men’s under-63kg category gold went to Joan Cala Jorquera of Spain, with silver going to Novak Stanic of Serbia.

The two bronze medals were awarded to Emircan Turan of Turkey and Adrian Del Rio Guerrero of Spain.

The men’s under-68kg category saw more gold for Spain with Javier Polo Perez victorious.

Russia’s Khanmagomed Ramazanov took silver, with bronzes to Manuel Parada Martinez of Spain and Vladislav Moiseev of Russia.

There was a Russian one-two in the women’s under-62kg category courtesy of Liliia Khuzina who took gold and Yulia Zaitseva who claimed silver.

The two bronze medals went to Bruna Vuletic of Croatia and Kaja Husby Hansen of Norway.

In the women’s under-67kg category gold went to Serbia’s Aleksandra Perisic, with silver going to Athanasia Mitsopoulou of Greece.

The bronze medallists in this category were Vanessa Koerndl of Germany and North Macedonia’s Anamarija Georgievska.

In the women’s under-73kg category gold went to Cansel Deniz of Kazakhstan, with silver going to Germany’s Yanna Schneider.

The joint bronze medallists in the category were Adriana Hernandez Santana of Spain and Huri Korkut of Turkey.

In the women’s over-73kg category Germany’s Lorena Brandl took the gold medal, with Marlene Jahl of Austria claiming silver.

The joint bronze medallists were Tania Castineira Etcheverria of Spain and Esra Akbulak of Turkey.

In the men’s under-74kg category gold went to Daniel Quesada Barrera of Spain with silver going to Stefan Takov of Serbia.

The joint bronze medallists were Baris Dag of Turkey and Nikita Kriveychenko of Russia.

Gold in the men’s under-80kg category went to Kostiantyn Kosteneyvch of Ukraine, with silver won by Carl Alan Nickolas of the United States.

Bronze medals went to Turkey’s Yusuf Kara and Spain’s Jon Cintado Arteche.

The men’s under-87kg category was won by Roberto Botta of Italy with silver to Filip Dodevski of North Macedonia.

Joint bronze medals went to Daniel Ros Gomez of Spain and Rafael Kamalov of Russia.

Turkey took gold in the men’s over-87kg category through Emre Kutalmis Atesli, with silver won by Russia’s Rafail Aiukaev.

Joint bronzes went to Andrii Harbar of Ukraine and Muhammed Emin Acikgoz of Turkey.

The women’s under-46kg category was won by Larisa Medvedeva of Russia with Turkey’s Emine Gogebakan taking silver.

Bronze medals went to Anastasiia Artamonova of Russia and Monique Rodriguez of the United States.

In the women’s under-49kg category gold went to Sueheda Celik of Germany with Russia’s Galina Medvedeva claiming silver.

Bronze medals went to Sila Ezgi Yaggi and Rukiye Yildrim of Turkey.

Turkey were victorious in the women’s under-53kg category through Merve Dincel, with silver going to Ela Aydin of Germany.

Two more Turkish athletes claimed bronzes in the form of Elif Ilgin Oztabak and Zeliha Agris.

Victory in the women’s under-57kg category went to Faith Dillon of the United States, with silver to Gulse Polat of Turkey.

Bronzes went to Beyza Nur Genez of Turkey and Lea Spehar of Croatia.

Elsewhere in the poomsae disciplines hosts Turkey won almost all categories as they dominated this section of the event.

In the men’s junior team event first place went to Turkish team Bahcelievler Fatih Spur Kulubu, consisting of Mirac Asucuoglu, Mert Celik and Muhammed Emin Mukul.

In the men’s team over-30 category it was a Turkish clean sweep with first place going to the team Cigli Belediye Spor Kulübü, consisting of Sahin Altun, Ismail Kokcu and Ali Ilgun.

First place went to the Turkey national poomsae team’s line-up of Beyzanur Cigrikci, Eylul Sezgin and Esma Yildiz in the women’s junior team competition.

In the men’s pair cadet category it was another Turkish clean sweep with first place going to the team Cinar Genclik Ve Spor Kulubu, consisting of Ruya Gokce and Can Tuna Unver.

In the men’s pair under-30 event first place went to the Özok Team from Turkey of Habip Okcu and Ayse Okcu.

In the individual categories Turkey enjoyed success with Ali Kemal Ustabas of the Özok Team ranked in first place in the men’s under-30 discipline.

First place in the men’s under-50 went to compatriot Mevlut Pekcan of Ilbank Sk Poomse Takimi, while the only competitor ranked in the men’s under-65 was Mustafa Helvacioglu of the Poomsae Turkish National Team.

The Turkish monopoly on men’s individual categories was broken in the men’s individual cadet discipline, where first place went to Davyd Gavrylov of the Poomsae Ukrainian National Team.

In the female categories competitors from the Turkish National Poomsae Team placed first in both, in the form of Elif Ekrin Koc in the individual female discipline and Busra Deniz Yilmaz in the under-30 female.

The men’s free pair under-17 event was won by Turkish team Edremit Cimnastik Gsk and their line-up of Zeynep Sude Gezer and Kerem Narlioglu.

In the individual free over-17 male the only competitor ranked was Mesut Aksaray Irge of Turkey, while in the individual free over-17 female first place went to Russia’s Anastasiia Sumenkova representing the Belgorod Region Taekwondo Federation.
