Winners of the first round of pools were confirmed today on the third day of competition at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Women's Volleyball Under 20 World Championship in The Netherlands and Belgium.

Serbia already confirmed their spot at the top of Pool B with a win over the Dominican Republic yesterday, as Puerto Rico were forced to withdraw from the competition due to a number of COVID-19 cases within the team.

Their default win over the Caribbean team was confirmed today, ensuring they topped the pool.

All teams' finishing position would determine which pool they would feed into in the second round.

In the other Pool B game, the Dominican Republic defeated Belgium 25-19, 25-21, 25-17.

The Netherlands came from a set down to win Pool A in the deciding tie against Brazil, with the score finishing 22-25, 25-21, 25-16, 27-25.

Argentina defeated Rwanda 25-18, 25-10, 25-14 to finish third in Pool A.

Italy finished top of Pool D with three victories, defeating Belarus 25-23, 25-17, 25-21, while Poland beat Egypt 25-11, 25-23, 25-17 in the other match in the pool.

The United States claimed top spot in Pool C with a 25-18, 27-25, 25-22 win over Turkey, while Russia finished third with a 25-23, 25-20 25-16 win over Thailand.
