The schedule for the inaugural edition of the World Beach Sambo Championships has been revealed, with two days of competition planned in Larnaca in Cyprus.

Individual action will be held on day one on August 28, with men fighting at 58 kilograms, 71kg, 88kg and over-88kg.

Women will lace up at 50kg, 59kg, 72kg and over-72kg.

On day two on August 29, mixed team competitions will be held with male sambists needing to come from the 71kg, 88kg and over-88kg divisions.

Female athletes can be picked from the 72kg and over-72kg catergories only.

The event was initially due to take place last year, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organisers have said that "special attention" will be paid to coronavirus safety measures when the event does get underway. 

Participants can now register through the International Sambo Federation database, before the deadline of August 15.
