The second day of competition saw the conclusion of the group stage in the men’s singles class 10 event, along with the opening knockout ties.

Su faced Britain’s Kim Daybell in the last eight of the competition at the Tri Lilije Hall, with both players heading into the match with a faultless record.

A strong performance saw Jin earn an 11-3, 4-11, 11-6, 11-6 win over Daybell, who was a quarter-finalist at Rio 2016.

Jin will now face Poland’s Igor Misztal, who was an 11-6, 11-13, 11-6, 11-5 winner against Japan’s Nariaki Kakita.

The Czech Republic’s Tibor Chmela won a tightly contested match 11-6, 3-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-7 against Montenegro’s Luka Bakic to reach the semi-finals.

Chmela will face France’s Gilles de la Bourdonnaye, who enjoyed a straight games 11-8, 11-9, 11-4 win over Russia’s Pavel Lukyanov.

The women’s class 10 event has also reached the semi-final stage, after the group phase concluded.

The opening semi-final sees Turkey’s Merve Demir play Germany’s Marlene Reeg, before Romania’s Ioana-Monica Tepelea plays Japan’s Nozmomi Takeuchi.

Semi-finals in the men’s singles class four event will see Japan’s Genki Saito and France’s Alexandre Delarque compete for a place in the final, where they will meet the winner of the match between Slovakia’s Boris Travinicek and Spain’s Francisco Lopez Sayago.

Russia’s Mars Gabdullin and Japan’s Kazuki Shichino meet in the men’s class six event.

The victor will take on either Spain’s Alberto Seoane Alcazar or Italy’s Mattero Parenzan.

A total of 21 places at Tokyo 2020 are available at the tournament, but only the winners of the classes will advance to the Games.
