A collaboration agreement has been signed between the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Mexico and Romania.

Both NOCs have put pen to paper on a four-year deal which aims to promote friendly relations between athletes from the countries.

Joint training camps in preparation for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are part of the arrangement, as well as education for high performance coaches at senior, junior and youth levels.

Knowledge will be shared in areas including sports medicine, sports science, Olympic education and sports administrators, while there will also be collaboration on world-class event management, marketing, logistics, sports diplomacy and international relations.

Another area covered is the training of NOC staff, in particular in the areas of leadership, organisational management, sustainability, gender equality and development, as well as the fight against doping.

Mexican Olympic Committee President Carlos Padilla Becerra signed the deal with Romanian Olympic Committee counterpart Mihai Covaliu.

Guillermo Ordorica, the Mexican Ambassador in Romania, coordinated the signing.

The deal came about through Mexico's Diplomacy and Sports Cooperation Programme, which was set-up by the country's Ministry of Foreign Relations.
