Action took place across six categories behind closed doors at the Arena Armeec Sport Hall with the two wrestlers that made the finals of their respective events securing places at Tokyo 2020 in the process.

The most dramatic action took places in the under-57 kilograms category where Chumikova beat Norway’s Grace Bullen by fall, coming from behind on the scoreboard to earn a place at the Olympics.

Chumikova led after the first period thanks to an effective fireman’s carry before Bullen regained the lead in the second period thanks to a four-point back trip.

With time running out, Chumikova got her opponent on her back thanks to a lateral drop, before pressing down to secure the fall and with an emotional win.

Chumikova will face Mathilde Riviere of France in the final after she won 5-1 against Giullia Oliveira of Brazil thanks to takedowns in each period.

In the under-50kg category, Seema Bisla of India narrowly beat Anna Lukasiak of Poland 2-1 thanks to a shrug-by takedown.

The second semi-final was an all South American match-up with Ecuador’s Lucia Yepez beating Patricia Bermudez of Argentina on big point criteria after the contest had finished at 6-6.

In the under-53kg category, Andreea Ana of Romania overcame Canada’s Samantha Stewart 4-2 in dramatic style thanks to a driving double leg takedown with just five seconds remaining.

Ana will face Olga Khoroshavtseva of ROC in the final, after the European champion beat Betzabeth Arguello of Venezuela 11-0 by technical fall.

In the under-62kg category, Bolortuya Khurelkhuu of Mongolia won by fall against Veranika Ivanova of ROC, despite trailing 9-1 after her opponent managed two four point moves in the first period.

Khurelkhuu reduced her deficit before a chicken wing helped her turn Ivanova over and secure the win by fall.

Khurelkhuu will take on ROC’s Liubov Ovcharova in the final, with Ovcharova running out a comfortable 8-0 winner against Luisa Niemesch of Germany thanks to a four-point back suplex.

In the under-68kg discipline, Elis Manolova of Azerbaijan triumphed 5-3 against Zhamila Bakbergenova of Kazakhstan.

Manolova will face Mimi Hristova of Bulgaria in the final with the 2020 European champion starting strongly against Adela Hanzlickova of the Czech Republic thanks to a four point cradle before completing victory by technical fall with four seconds remaining.

The final category contested was the under-76kg event, with Yasemin Adar of Turkey running out a convincing 10-1 win over Martina Kuenz of Austria.

Adar will face Alla Belinska of Ukraine in the final, after she comfortably beat Maria Acosta of Venezuela 8-0.

Men’s Greco-Roman action is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
