A number of measures in place to prevent the spread of the virus will be in place at the event, scheduled between April 9 to May 30, such as requiring anyone with a positive result to isolate for a minimum of 10 days.

Those players would then need to clear the testing process before reintegration into the bubble system, which is monitored by various managers who are responsible for reporting breaches.

The 14th edition of the IPL is set to played at six venues in India and will be behind closed doors at first.

According to ESPN Cricket, the BCCI has informed teams they will not be vaccinated during the IPL.

The IPL distributed their guidelines yesterday to the eight teams.

There will be 12 bubbles - eight for the respective teams, two for match officials and the match management team and another two for broadcasting crew.

All personnel in these bubbles must undergo a seven-day mandatory quarantine in a hotel room before entering the environment.

In-room testing will be done on days two, five and seven and only once all three results return negative can the person leave quarantine.

Once in the bubble, all personnel will be tested twice a week during the second week and every fifth day during the season after the second week.

Those already in the bubble system for the India-England international series will not require the week-long quarantine.

"Players coming directly from the bubble created for the India vs England series may be permitted to join the franchise squad without serving the mandatory quarantine period, provided they satisfy the following criteria: after conclusion of the India vs England series, the players are moved directly to the franchise team hotel either in the team bus or on a chartered flight," said the IPL guidelines.

Those joining the season late will still need to serve a quarantine period outside the bubble, on a different floor of the team hotel.
