Juliana_Felisberta_SilvaNovember 12 - Brazilian beach volleyball star Juliana Felisberta Silva (pictured) has been named the most outstanding women's player on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour for the second season in a row.

The 27-year-old, who with her partner Larissa Franca clinched her fifth team championship of the last six years, was also voted the FIVB's top blocker and offensive player.

The awards will come as some consolation for the star who missed out on the Beijing 2008 Games when she injured her right knee at an event in Paris.

Franca, the 2006 SWATCH MOP and runner-up for the 2010 season, was named as the tour's top setter and hitter for the fifth year in a row.

The partnership shared US$351,300 (£217,651) in earnings from this season's 12 events.

Also capturing individual awards were Kristyna Kolocova and Marketa Slukova of the Czech Republic, Taiana Lima of Brazil, Misty May-Treanor of the United States, Marleen Van Iersel of the Netherlands, Xi Zhang of China and Great Britain's Denise Johns, who was honoured as the most inspirational player.

Kolocova and Slukova tied for the rookie-of-the-year award, edging out Marta Menegatti, who captured the first-ever women's silver medal for Italy with Valeria Rosso at the season finale in Thailand.

Kolocova and Slukova finished ranked 12th on the tour, the highest by a team from the Czech Republic since the 2004 season.
