Russia’s 2017 world long jump silver medallist Darya Klishina, New Zealand runner Nikki Hamblin, winner of a Rio 2016 Fair Play Award, and Stephanie Eichenberger, integrity manager at FIFA, will be among the speakers at the inaugural Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) Youth Forum, which starts today.

The virtual event, which will run for two days, is themed on the idea of integrity coupled with opportunity, awareness and employment.

Consisting of two days of content within 12 interactive digital webinar sessions, the SIGA Youth Forum will gather young leaders under 30 years of age, together with more experienced athletes, from around the world, with the aim of promoting youth empowerment and activism in and through sport.

Taylor Green, secretary general of the SIGA Youth Council and a SIGA mentee, commented: "SIGA created this two-day event comprised of 12 dynamic panels on the integrity of sport by and for emerging leaders, and each of you have answered our call.

"So, to any young person here who is searching for that one opportunity to get their foot in the door in sports or who maybe is unsure whether sports even has a place for them, or to the leader who in spite of the many obstacles 2020 presented us, is energized, motivated, and driven to meet the sport integrity challenges ahead, we see you, we hear you, and this Forum is for you."

The initiative follows consultations between SIGA and numerous young people, partly through the SIGA Youth Council, and the Forum is due to provide a platform for young people to have their questions answered within an interactive hub, with careers in the industry at the forefront of discussions.

Arena Hub, AxisStars, IPDJ, India On Track, Inside World Football, Save the Dream and Soccerex are the official Institutional Partners for the virtual event, which will include 25 speakers.
