Andreas Prommegger and Claudia Riegler of Austria won the team mixed parallel slalom event on home snow in Bad Gastein as part of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup.

In the final, the experienced pair defeated Germany's Stefan Baumeister and Cheyenne Loch to claim the gold medal.

Prommegger is a two-time world champion, while Riegler - now 47 - won the parallel giant slalom world title in 2015.

Austria held a 0.86-second advantage over the silver medallists.

In the small final, Russians Dmitry Loginov and Sofia Nadyrshina won the bronze, having defeated Benjamin Karl and Daniela Ulbing of Austria by 0.30 seconds.

Double 2019 world champion Loginov and three-time junior world champion Nadyrshina are emerging as two of the best Alpine snowboarders in the world at the ages of 20 and 17 respectively.

Switzerland's Dario Caviezel and Julie Zogg finished fifth, ahead of the Russian pairing of Andrey Sobolev and Natalia Soboleva.

Swiss pair Nevin Galmarini and Patrizia Kummer were seventh, while Austria's Lukas Mathies and Miriam Weis finished eighth.

The next leg of the FIS Snowboard World Cup in parallel disciplines is set to take place on January 30 in Moscow.
