Final line-ups were decided in five Greco-Roman weight classes as the United World Wrestling (UWW) Individual World Cup in Belgrade got underway.

The event is taking place in lieu of the World Championships, which the Serbian capital was due to host before they were called off because of the coronavirus pandemic reducing the number of leading nations prepared to send a team.

Of the 10 athletes to earn final berths, four are Russian, including Olympic champions Roman Vlasov and Davit Chakvetadze.

Vlasov beat Viktor Nemeš - a Serbian former world champion - in the 77-kilogram semi-finals, and will face European silver medalist Zoltan Levai of Hungary in tomorrow's final.

Chakvetadze overcame Iran's Asian Games champion Hossein Nouri in his 87kg last-four match, and will face Kiryl Maskevich of Belarus for the gold medal.

In the 55kg contest, Russia's Emin Sefershaev beat former world champion Eldaniz Azizli of Azerbaijan en route to the final, where he will meet Turkish Serif Kilic.

Nazir Abdullaev is Russia's other finalist, and his route there in the 67kg division included beating Serbia's Olympic champion Davor Štefanek in the quarter-finals.

Štefanek announced his retirement after that defeat, symbolically leaving his shoes on the mat.

As well as a Rio 2016 gold medal, Štefanek won a world title in 2014.

Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games gold medallist Islambek Dadov of Azerbaijan also reached the 67kg final.

At 72kg, Hungarian Bálint Korpási - a world champion in 2016 and four-time World Championship medallist - will face 21-year-old Armenian Malkhas Amoyan in the final.

The UWW Individual World Cup continues tomorrow, with these five finals set to headline proceedings.
