Official partners have been confirmed for the inaugural International Cycling Union (UCI) Esports World Championships.

The event will take place on the Zwift platform on December 9 after being confirmed in August.

Garmin-Tacx, Toyota South Africa Motors, Science in Sport and Shimano have all signed on to sponsor the action.

Tacx has become the official trainer partner of the World Championships, while Shimano will serve as the official drivetrain partner.

Science in Sport has been named as the official nutrition partner, with Toyota South Africa Motors the official automotive partner.

The World Championships will feature two events - men's elite and women's elite.

Both categories will cover the same route and 50 kilometres distance, with the winners receiving rainbow jerseys.

"There's no doubt that we are going to make history on December 9," said Eric Min, the co-founder and chief executive of Zwift.
