Eurosport is set to broadcast major International Skating Union (ISU) events across Europe for three seasons after signing a deal with Infront.

The international broadcaster has secured rights to competitions including World Championships in figure skating, speed skating and short track from 2020-2021 to 2022-2023.

Events on the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating circuit, and World Cups in speed skating and short track, are also covered under the deal.

The agreement does not include Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Russia.

Nordic countries are not involved in the agreement as Infront had already sold the rights for the region from 2019-2020 to 2022-2023 to the Nordic Entertainment Group.

The latest deal will see the events shown on Discovery-owned Eurosport’s linear channels and digital platforms, including the Eurosport App.

Infront signed a four-season media rights deal with the sports marketing company last year.

The agreement, which Infront claimed consolidated its position as the main commercial partner of the seven Winter Olympic International Federations, covers the 2019-20 season through to the 2022-2023 campaign.

ISU events have been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

This year's World Figure Skating Championships are among the events to have been cancelled by the ISU because of the COVID-19 crisis.
