Russian pole vaulter Lyudmila Eremina has been banned for two years after a positive test for the banned substance clomiphene.

The Russian Athletics Federation (RusAF) said Eremina was banned by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) on October 5.

Eremina had tested positive for clomiphene, a fertility drug.

Clomiphene is included on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list under the category of hormone and metabolic modulators

Eremina's suspension has been backdated to the date of her positive test on November 20 in 2019.

She will remain suspended until November 19 in 2021.

The 29-year-old has also been disqualified from any competitions she competed in after her failure.

Eremina was a silver medallist at the Russian Athletics Championships in 2014.

She claimed bronze medals in the women's pole vault at the Championships in 2012 and 2013.

Eremina has a personal best of 4.45 metres, which was achieved back in 2013.

She has an indoor best of 4.56m.
