Roman Polianskyi has added a European Rowing Championships title to his Paralympic and world crowns with victory in Polish city Poznan.

The Ukrainian, who won gold at Rio 2016 and was crowned world champion in Austria last year, experienced European joy when he won the PR1 men’s single sculls final in 9min 34.54sec.

Russia’s Alexey Chuvashev came second in 09:47.83 while Germany’s Marcus Klemp finished third in 09:59.42.

In the PR1 women’s single sculls, France’s Nathalie Benoit triumphed in 10:51.68 ahead of Ukraine’s Anna Sheremet in 11:02.17 and Germany’s Sylvia Pille-Steppat in 11:17.9.

The PR2 mixed double sculls final was won by Dutch pairing of Annika van der Meer and Corne de Koning in 08:19.77.

They defeated Svitlana Bohuslavska and Iaroslav Koiuda of Ukraine, who came home in 08:26.55, and Polish duo Jolanta Majka and Michel Gadowski, who crossed the line in 08.29.03.

The Italian team of Cristina Scazzosi, Alessandro Brancato, Lorenzo Bernard, Greta Muti and Lorena Fuina came out on top in the PR3 mixed coxed four final, winning in 07:19.67.

Olexandra Polianska, Dariia Kotyk, Stanislav Samoliuk, Maksym Zhuk and Yuliia Malasai of Ukraine took the silver medal in 07:22.83.

Bronze went to the French team of Guylaine Marchand, Margot Boulet, Remy Taranto, Antoine Jesel and Robin Le Barreau in 07:24.43.

All four Para-rowing finals were held today.
