Irish Independent_supplement_January_5_2012January 4 - Ireland's top London 2012 prospects, such as reigning T37 800 metre world and Paralympic champion Michael McKillop, are set for some major exposure in the Irish Independent as they will appear in a 24-page colour supplement tomorrow.


It has been developed by Paralympics Ireland in association with their Communications partners, Pembroke Communications, during the past six months.

The supplement has many features such as a question and answer with an athlete from each sport and headshots of all current panel members.

It will also feature the history of Ireland's involvement in the Paralympic Games and information about the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

As well as the likes of McKillop, Ireland has a number of strong London 2012 Paralympic prospects such as sprint star Jason Smyth.

The 24-year-old visually-impaired sprinter from Derry in Northern Ireland is the reigning T13 100 and 200m Paralympic champion will be looking to defend both his titles at the Olympic Stadium in London.

Smyth will also hop to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics the able-bodied World Championships in Daegu last year alongside fellow Paralympian Oscar Pistorius of South Africa.
