Anthony Jeanjean underlined his status as France’s best hope for an Olympic medal in BMX freestyle park with victory at the International Festival of Extreme Sports (FISE) Xperience Canet-en-Rousillion.

The 22-year-old rider who qualified for Tokyo 2020 – where the discipline will make its Olympic debut - after winning last year’s European Championships, took the title for the second successive year in the French city, seeing off his compatriots.

Jeanjean’s haul of 86 points was enough to beat Istvan Caillet, 27, who finished on 85.50 while Maxime Bringer, 23, completed a France one-two-three with 81.
