London 2012_Paralympic_tickets_poster_wheelchair_basketballDecember 2 - Remaining tickets for the London 2012 Paralympic Games are set to go back on sale on a first come, first served basis at exactly 1pm today.

Following unprecedented interest a year out from the London 2012 Paralympic Games, over a million tickets have already been sold.

But a number of top tickets will still be available to purchase before Christmas as they go back on sale - including for some medal sessions.

Full price tickets start at just £10 ($16/€12), with tickets for young people and seniors costing only £5 ($8/€6).

"Following the unprecedented demand for Paralympic tickets earlier this year, these tickets are a wonderful opportunity to take family and friends to  the Games next year - a fantastic Christmas gift," said London 2012 chief executive Paul Deighton.

"Those who get hold of one of these remaining tickets will get the chance to witness amazing athletes and sport like never before during what will undoubtedly be a time of extraordinary pride for our nation."

Perhaps the top tickets still available are those at the Olympic Stadium on September 6 when reigning Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius of South Africa and reigning World Champion Jerome Singleton of America are set to clash in the T44 100-metre race in what is predicted to be the highlight of the entire competition.

The stellar September 6 session will also probably see Britain's David Weir look to defend the gold medal he won at Beijing in the T54, although he will have to hold off world-record holder Marcel Hug of Switzerland to claim victory on home soil.

There remains good availability for morning sessions for swimming at the Aquatics Centre where highlights could include Britain's Ellie Simmonds going for golds in the S6 50m and 100m freestyle on September 4 and September 8 respectively.

In addition, Olympic Park Day Passes remain available and offer opportunities to see several sports including wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis, while ExCeL Day Passes are also still on sale and give the opportunity to see a range of sports on one ticket including powerlifting, sitting volleyball and wheelchair fencing.

Wheelchair basketball at the North Greenwich Arena is another with good availability, as is equestrian at Greenwich Park

Only Visa (debit, credit and prepaid) can be used to purchase tickets while for applicants outside of the UK, a full list of authorised ticket resellers is available on the London 2012 ticketing website.

Customers are advised to purchase Paralympic tickets only through official sources while it is illegal to sell them without the permission of London 2012.

Tickets will be available from www.tickets.london2012.com or via telephone on 0844 847 2012.
