Rowing Ireland has announced it is seeking a male athlete to attempt to qualify a boat for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The national governing body says it is seeking a male athlete in the PR2 classification, with the individual expected to form part of a mixed double scull pairing.

World Rowing defines the PR2 class as: "Rowers who have trunk and arm movement, who are unable to use their legs to propel the sliding seat".

Rowing Ireland has invited people who believe they might qualify as a PR2 athlete to email the national governing body.

The individual must have a competitive nature, strong upper body and have either decreased mobility or no use of their legs.
