Fans hoping to attend a youth camp which is planned for alongside the 2021 International Ski Federation Nordic World Ski Championships now have more time to apply.

The closing deadline for entries has been extended to August 31 by the German Ski Federation.

In all, 56 youngsters aged between 13 and 17 will be allowed to attend the camp at the Championships in Oberstdorf.

They will be able to experience the event on-site, meeting the athletes and getting up-close to high-level winter sport.

Experiencing people from other cultures is also seen as a plus point of the camp.

All participants must have an interest in snow sports and good English skills.

They need motivation to participate in an intercultural exchange and voluntary engagement in sports, as well as an interest to find out more about a big sports event.

The camp is due to take place in two waves, between February 24 and March 1 and March 2 and March 7.

Cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined are the disciplines contested at Nordic World Ski Championships.
