World Lacrosse, to mark one year to go until the re-scheduled Men’s Under-20 World Championship, has released a new video and launched a new website.

President Sue Redfern joined five players poised to feature at the event in Limerick in the video.

The youth competition in Ireland is among the numerous sporting events worldwide to be postponed because of the COVID-19 outbreak and was originally an under-19 tournament scheduled for this year.

Australian Lucas Koczwara, Clay Scanlan of the Iroquois Nationals, Englishman Daniel Madeley, Canada's Thomas McConvey and American Lance Tillman all feature, telling viewers they will see them in Limerick.

Redfern adds that she is "sure our Irish hosts will provide a really warm welcome".

The World Lacrosse General Assembly was due to follow the tournament this year, but is now being held virtually in October.

The Men’s Under-20 World Championship is set to begin at the University of Limerick on June 17 2021.

As for the new website, World Lacrosse claims it "marks the first important milestone in a multi-year digital strategy" and will be the foundation for more developments.

It features an in-built video player to help stream live content, a new design optimised for different devices and a fresh navigation system.

Upgrades also mean the website can be adapted quickly and that World Lacrosse can run multiple sites to target different audiences.

National governing bodies will be able to run their websites off the World Lacrosse platform in the future.

Another future addition will be an online store, due to launch next month.
