LPGA eTour Live, which uses the World Golf Tour (WGT) game, began with the opening two fixtures last week.

Jessica Korda, the world number 16, beat sister Nelly 2-up in the first match of the series, while Angel Yin overcame her American Solheim Cup partner Lizette Salas 4 and 2.

Matches are being played over nine holes, with two taking place per week.

South Korea's Jenny Shin goes up against Tiffany Joh of the United States in the third contest on Wednesday (May 20), before American Lucy Li plays compatriot Jane Park on Friday (May 22).

Korda will take on Yin in the semi-finals, while the other will be between the winners of the two matches scheduled to be held this week.

Brian Carroll, the LPGA’s senior vice-president of global media distribution, said the launch of the series will help fill the void of events on the tour caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

"We are excited for this partnership with WGT and Topgolf to present an entertaining and alternative golf experience for all fans alike during a time when many are starved for competition," Carroll said.

"This new endeavour is a creative way to showcase our LPGA and Symetra Tour players in an innovative online format, thanks to WGT and its incredibly realistic video game technology."
