A campaign to collate dreams and aspirations - launched by the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games Organising Committee - has received more than 100,000 submissions.

It was launched in December to mark the 1,000 day countdown until the Games, in partnership with the Zhejiang Youth Development Foundation and the Zhejiang Provincial Charity Foundation.

Among the participants was Lu Chao, a medic working at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine who spent 45 days in Wuhan helping the city curtail coronavirus.

He wrote that it was his dream to have a photo with the athletes of the Chinese women’s volleyball team as well as attend the Opening Ceremony of Hangzhou 2022.

Another participant was Xiao He, who wrote that it was his dream to let the world hear children's folk rhymes from China.

Over the past two years, Xiao and his team visited more than 200 seniors across China to record nursery rhymes.

"We will continue to search for people's dreams," said a Hangzhou 2022 representative.

"Meanwhile, we will launch an online activity titled 'One Song, One Photo and One Sentence' to collect the songs, photos and words that touch and empower people."

Competition is scheduled to take place from September 10 to 25 2022, with the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place earlier in the year in February.

International Olympic Committee member Richard Pound warned Beijing 2022 organisers of the potential impact of coronavirus, with his words suggesting Hangzhou 2022 may also have to be wary.

Hangzhou 2022 will mark the third time China has hosted the Asian Games, following Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.
