The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Dressage Calendar Task Force agreed on a number of proposals during a virtual meeting.

The body is one of eight created by the FEI to evaluate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the equestrian calendar and propose ways of mitigating its effects.

It held its first meeting via videoconference on Thursday (April 16).

FEI secretary general Sabrina Ibáñez chaired the meeting and is set to do the same for each of the discipline taskforces.

The dressage call was also attended by FEI vice-presidents Mark Samuel  and Jack Huang, FEI dressage committee chairman Frank Kemperman and dressage athletes’ representative Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Thomas Baur of the International Equestrian Organisers Association.

The FEI dressage director, calendar administrator and representatives of the IT, legal and governance departments were also present.

They discussed a number of issues, including the deadlines for national federations to come back to the FEI with proposed alternative dates for events needing to be rescheduled.

Rules relating to date clashes and date change applications, the 2020 and 2021 Dressage Championships, 2020 FEI Dressage Nations Cup series, 2021 FEI Dressage World Cup Finals and initiatives to help organisers were also discussed.

The proposals from the Dressage Calendar Task Force will now go to the FEI Board for consideration.

FEI President Ingmar De Vos is also being kept fully updated on the work of each of the taskforces.
