Ratu Tisha Destria announced she is to step down from her position as Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) secretary general.

Destria made the announcement in a two-minute video on Instagram.

She became PSSI secretary general in July 2017, replacing Ade Wellington.

"I am deeply thankful to have served fellow PSSI members, football players, coaches, referees, match commissioners, instructors, and football fans since July 27 2017," Destria said.

She did not give a reason for her resignation.

Destria played an integral part in Indonesia's successful bid to host the 2021 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, which was awarded to the country last year.

She also spent time developing female football leagues in Indonesia.

Despite her resignation, Destria remains in football administration as Association of Southeast Asian Nations Football Federation deputy and an Asian Football Confederation committee member.

PSSI has experienced something of a turbulent time in recent years, with President Edy Rahmayadi resigning amid a match-fixing scandal last year.

Rahmayadi was also under pressure as a result of Indonesia's recent poor performances at major and regional tournaments.

Rahmayadi's predecessor La Nyalla Mattalitti was accused of corruption by judicial authorities in 2016.

Matalitti was arrested following allegations he misused grants from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

PSSI had previously been suspended by FIFA following a row with the Sports Ministry of Indonesia.

The Government tried to replace the existing governing body, plagued with allegations of corruption and mismanagement, which they claimed at the time was a necessary step.

The ban was eventually lifted in 2017 after the dispute was resolved.
