Preparations for the 2021 International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf are on track despite the coronavirus pandemic.

With competition now 10 months away, the Oberstdorf 2021 Organising Committee held a video conference call with members of the German Ski Association, FIS and Infront Media, the media and marketing rights holder.

Following an extensive test event programme last winter, organisers provided updates on the facilities.

They also reported progress in working with the local authorities on transportation, traffic flow and securing the necessary accommodation for all stakeholders.

The accreditation system, medical plans and media facilities are also starting to take shape.

Competition is scheduled for February 23 to March 7 next year.

"Thanks to their excellent preparation and organisation, the Oberstdorf 2021 team with strong support from the German Ski Association experts have not missed a beat during this difficult time.

"They are completely on schedule to welcome the world for a memorable FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in the Allgäu region early next year."
