The International Handball Federation (IHF) paid tribute to former referee and coach Mohamed Ball Camara, who passed away last month.
Camara and his referee partner Aboubacar Diakite became respected referees at home in Guinea and eventually made the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) list.
In August 2011, the pair attended the IHF’s Global Referee Training Programme in Burkina Faso and subsequently made the IHF world list for the 2012-2013 season.
Guinea Handball Federation President Camara Paya Mamadouba led the tributes to Camara, helping to organise the funeral which was held in Guinea’s capital Conakry.
The funeral was attended by a large number of Guinean handball representatives, players and coaches.
IHF President Hassan Moustafa has offered his sincerest condolences to Camara's family and friends, Mamadouba and everyone at the Guinea Handball Federation and CAHB.
