Team Fintastic Junior's reaction to winning gold ©ISU

Finland's Team Fintastic Junior claimed gold at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships, overturning the day one lead of two Russian teams at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham in the United Kingdom.

Sitting in third on day one, Fintastic dramatically won by just 0.71 points with a total score over the past two days of 205.94 ahead of yesterday's leaders, Team Junost Junior from Russia.

Junost's closest rivals yesterday were their compatriots, Team Crystal Ice Junior who held on to the bronze medal by a narrow margin - 0.04 points ahead of the other Finnish side, Team Mystique Junior with a score of 200.09.

Canadian teams Nexxice Junior and Les Supremes Junior finished fifth and sixth ahead of Sweden's Team Spirit Junior and Team Seaside Junior to round off the top eight, with the top performance from the hosts, Team Icicles Junior finishing in 10th.
