La Plagne will play host this weekend to the penultimate event in the season’s women’s monobob competition, which is due to make its Olympic debut at Beijing in 2022.

The French venue is the fifth stop on the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation tour that is scheduled to conclude where it began, in Lake Placid, on April 3.

As with the previous stop in Park City, United States last month, La Plagne will feature races on successive days.

Karlien Sleper of The Netherlands won both the Park City races at the Utah Olympic Park Track, thus becoming the first pilot to win more than one race this season.

In Königssee in Germany, China's Ying Qing and Australia's Breeana Walker could not be separated at the head of the field.

Russia's Anastasiia Makarova won in Lillehammer in Norway – where Sleper took bronze - and Canada's Cynthia Appiah was quickest in Lake Placid.

Australia’s Ashleigh Werner has also shown good consistency this season, taking bronze in Lake Placid and silver in the first of the Park City races, as well as finishing fifth in Konigssee.
