The United States and Switzerland won the respective junior men's 4x5 kilometres and women's 4x3.3km cross-country relays on day seven of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Junior and Under-23 Cross-Country World Ski Championships in German town Oberwiesenthal.

In the men's 4x5km event, the American quartet of Luke Jager, Ben Ogden, Johnny Hagenbuch and Gus Schumacher triumphed in 54min 54.9sec.

Canada's Xavier McKeever, Olivier Léveillé, Thomas Stephen and Rémi Drolet were the runners-up in 55:30.4, while Italy's Michele Gasperi, Davide Graz, Giovanni Ticcò and Francesco Manzoni came third in 55:50.3.

As for the women's 4x3.3km race, Switzerland's Nadja Kälin, Siri Wigger, Anja Weber and Anja Lozza came out on top in 35:08.6.

The US's Sydney Palmer-Leger, Kendall Kramer, Sophia Laukli and Novie McCabe finished second in 35:13.5 and the podium was rounded off by Sweden's Tilde Bångman, Märta Rosenberg, Tove Ericsson and Louise Lindström in 35:22.8.

Also held today was the mixed team HS105/4x2.5km Nordic combined event, which saw Norway's Sebastian Østvold, Marte Leinan Lund, Gyda Westvold Hansen and Andreas Skoglund prevail in 41:15.6.

The silver medals went to Germany's Christian Frank, Maria Gerboth, Jenny Nowak and David Mach in 41:48.2, and the bronzes were won by Japan's Daimatsu Takehana, Ayane Miyazaki, Anju Nakamura and Kodai Kimura in 42:18.4.

Action in Oberwiesenthal is due to continue tomorrow.
