Norway's Iver Tildheim Andersen and Helene Marie Fossesholm won the respective junior men's 30 kilometres and women's 15km mass start freestyle cross-country events as action continued today at the International Ski Federation Nordic Junior and Under-23 Cross-Country World Ski Championships in German town Oberwiesenthal.

Andersen triumphed in a time of 1 hour 13min 39sec, beating home athlete Friedrich Moch by 9.4 seconds.

Rounding off the podium was Norway's Martin Kirkeberg Moerk, who finished 32.8 seconds off the pace.

In the women's competition, Fossesholm prevailed in a time of 35:55.6.

Poland's Izabela Marcisz was the runner-up in 37:04.9, while Switzerland's Siri Wigger came third in 37:06.2.

There was also Nordic combined success for Norway today, thanks to Jens Lurås Oftebro's performance in the men's Gundersen normal hill HS105/10km.

Oftebro clocked a time of 24:00.1, finishing 1:14.4 ahead of nearest challenger Johannes Lamparter of Austria.

France's Gael Blondeau was 2:05.8 behind in the bronze medal position. 

As for the women's 5km event, Germany's Jenny Nowak claimed a home win in 14:12.3 and was followed in the standings by Norway's Gyda Westvold Hansen, second in 14:57.5, and Austria's Lisa Hirner, third in 15:03.5.

Action in Oberwiesenthal is due to continue tomorrow.
