Germany won the team event at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup in the Finnish city of Lahti.

Constantin Schmid, Pius Paschke, Stephan Leyhe and Karl Geiger recorded a total of 984.1 points to win gold for Germany. 

Slovenia were the silver medallists, with Cene Prevc, Timi Zajc, Peter Prevc and Anze Lanisek scoring 981.8.

In third was Philipp Aschenwald, Stefan Huber, Michael Hayboeck and Stefan Kraft of Austria on 979.3.

Despite the third place finish, Austria still top the Nations Cup standings with 4536 points.

Germany are second on 4357, followed by Norway on 3899.

Competition continues tomorrow with the individual final on the HS130 hill.

Kraft topped yesterday's qualifying contest to put him in prime position for another victory.
