Places at this year's Olympic Games in Tokyo will be on offer at the Pan American Sport Climbing Championships in Los Angeles this weekend.

Athletes who claim gold at the event will secure a Tokyo 2020 berth, providing their country still has quotas available.

The last available spot on the American team for the Games could be claimed at the Championships.

Zach Galla, who earned his second consecutive victory at the USA Climbing Combined Invitational, and Lead World Cup finalist Sean Bailey are among the US athletes set to compete on home soil.

Five Canadians will bid for Tokyo 2020 qualification, with Sean McColl the only athlete from the country to have booked his Olympic ticket so far.

The Pan American Championships will be the third and final chance for Alannah Yip, who missed out on sealing a Tokyo 2020 place at the World Championships and combined qualifier.

Latin American countries will aim to secure their first qualifier for Tokyo 2020, where sport climbing is making its Olympic debut.

The women's combined final is due to take place tomorrow, with the men's event scheduled for the following day.
