The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan (NOC Kazakhstan) has re-elected Saken Mussaibekov as secretary general at the organisation’s General Assembly.

The General Assembly took place in Kazakhstan’s capital city Nur-Sultan, with the focus on the Executive Committee elections.

Mussaibekov was re-elected as secretary general, while five vice-presidents also secured another term in their posts.

Daniyar Abulgazin will continue as vice-president of general issues, while Askar Mamin will oversee winter sports.

The summer sports position was taken by Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, while Kairat Boranbayev and Andrey Kryukov will serve as vice-presidents of Paralympic sports development and international cooperation respectively.

The officials will serve under NOC Kazakhstan President Timur Kulibayev.

"It has been four years since the election of the Executive Committee and the revision committee of the NOC Kazakhstan,” Kulibayev said.

“In this relatively short period of time the Executive Committee has carried out effective work on systematisation and regulation of corporate processes, including the execution of state assignment.

“The National Olympic Federations and the Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan are now active participants in all processes in sports.

“With the support of the Government, we are preparing teams and providing them with technical, medical and rehabilitation support.

“Only through joint efforts will we improve the effectiveness of the system of provision and training of national teams and ensure a quality solution to fundamental issues of the Olympic movement in our country.”
