Barbie now comes as a softball player, a surfer and a sport climber in Mattel's first launch of toys for this year's Tokyo Olympics.

The new line of dolls will feature the famous figure in the outfits of the five new sports of the Olympics which also include skateboarding and karate.

Alongside the iconic doll, the toy company have also introduced a new deck of limited edition Uno cards featuring the mascot Miraitowa as well as branded Hot Wheels cars.

In collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee, the new products will be available in spring and "highlights inclusivity and innovation" aiming to "inspire a new generation of athletes and fans around the world".

“Tokyo 2020 is a monumental event that brings the world together through sport and inspires fans of all ages,” said Janet Hsu, chief franchise officer of Mattel. 

“The Mattel Tokyo 2020 Collection honours these sports and inspires a new generation through the Olympic spirit and outstanding athletic tradition.”

The Hot Wheels Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Mini Collection will represent sports of Tokyo 2020 with historic sports like swimming from the first Games in Athens as well as sports making their debuts at this year's Games.
