Bauchet followed up his victory yesterday by winning in a time of 57.50sec.

Austria's Markus Salcher finished second in 58.90, while home favourite Aleksei Bugaev came third in 59.52.

Bochet, meanwhile, continued her perfect start with a podium-topping performance ahead of Russia's Varvara Voronchikhina and Switzerland's Bigna Schmidt.

Among today's other winners on the men's side of competition were Italy's Giacomo Bertagnolli and guide Andrea Ravelli in the men's visually impaired event, improving on their runners-up finish yesterday.

A time of 57.69 saw the pair beat yesterday's winners, Slovakia's Miroslav Haraus and Maros Hudik, by 1.44 seconds.

Russia's Ivan Frantsev and German Agranovskii came third for the second day running, ending up 1.60 seconds off the pace.

There was also a second win in as many days for Norway's Jesper Pedersen in the men's sitting event.

He clocked a time of 1:00.18 to hold off the only other finisher, Switzerland's Murat Pelit, by 15.95 seconds.

In the women's sitting event, sole competitor Laurie Stephens of the United States won her second gold medal.

The third and final set of downhill races are due to take place tomorrow.

Action is scheduled to run through to February 21.
