Both sides progressed at the Asian Football Confederation event after Vietnam's 1-0 Group A victory over Myanmar today.

Ngan Thi Van Su scored the only goal of the game with a 62nd-minute header at South Korea's Jeju World Cup Stadium.

Only three teams are contesting the group after the withdrawal of North Korea.

As Vietnam and South Korea have both now beaten Myanmar, they are guaranteed to take the two spots which qualify for the final stage.

The two countries will meet each other on Sunday (February 9) to see who wins the group.

Group B, taking place in Sydney, will resume tomorrow.

Hosts Australia will meet Chinese Taipei with China taking on Thailand.

China was originally due to host the event in Wuhan, but it was moved to Australia due to the coronavirus outbreak. 

The Chinese team were quarantined at Brisbane Airport on arrival in the country and have been photographed training in a hotel corridor.

Chinese Taipei beat Thailand 1-0 in the only game played in the group so far, after the upheaval prompted a reschedule of the fixtures.

Two sides will join Vietnam and South Korea in the next round, which consists of two play-off matches.

The two winners over two legs will qualify for Tokyo 2020.
