Lottery company Fiji Tattslotto continued its sponsorship of the Fiji Sports Awards @FASANOC

Lottery company Fiji Tattslotto continued its sponsorship of the Fiji Sports Awards (FSA) with a donation of FJD$30,000 (£11,000/$14,000/€13,000).

The donation marked a partnership that has now lasted a decade, with Fiji Sports Council chief executive and FSA chairman Litiana Loabuka acknowledging the ongoing support from Fiji Tattslotto.

"We have always been grateful for the support from Fiji Tattslotto, who has always been a wonderful supporter of sports in the country," she said.

Fiji Tattslotto senior administration manager Sereana Brown said she was grateful for the opportunity to continue the company's sponsorship and then committed to continuing to sponsor the FSA in the future.

Fiji Tattslotto is a major sponsor for the two main awards - sportsman and sportswoman of the year - at an event organised by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee.

Last year, rugby union flyhalf Alivereti Veitokani received the male accolade while Olympic table tennis player Sally Yee was named sportswoman of the year.

Other award categories include ones for technical officials, sports volunteers, coaches, sports organisations, young female athletes and young males athletes.

Loabuka revealed a special award would also be given out to promote good governance in the national sports organisations.

The ceremony is scheduled for February 20 at Suva's Vodafone Arena.

Nominations are being collected from national sports organisations, which were invited to put forward those who made a significant contribution to Fijian sport in 2019.
