Argentina defeated Chile to maintain their lead going into the final day of the South and Central American Men's Handball Championship in Brazil.

The Argentinian side, reigning Pan American Games champions, overcame Chile 30-22 at Maringá's Ginásio Chico Neto.

This was enough to see them maintain their lead in the round-robin table, with a goal difference of plus 128. 

However, Brazil kept pace, defeating Uruguay 31-14 to also sit on eight points but with a goal difference of plus 124.

Argentina and Brzail meet tomorrow, with the winner set to take home the overall title. 

In the day's remaining fixture, Bolivia suffered yet another thrashing at the hands of Paraguay, losing 51-8. 

When round-robin competition concludes tomorrow, the top three sides will qualify for the 2021 World Men's Handball World Championship in Egypt. 

Uruguay are set to finish third.

Paraguay are scheduled to play Uruguay tomorrow, while Chile will take on Bolivia.
