Defending champions India have qualified for the Super League quarter-finals at the International Cricket Council Under-19 World Cup, after a stunning 10-wicket win over Japan in Bloemfontein today.

Ravi Bishnoi took four wickets in five balls, as India bowled out the tournament debutants for 41 before chasing down the target in 4.5 overs for no loss at Mangaung Oval.

Yashasvi Jaiswal did most of the damage, scoring 29 runs off 18 balls, including five fours and a six.

Opening partner Kumar Kushagra was 13 not out by the time the winning line was crossed.

Victory means India have reached the next stage of the event with a game to spare in Group A.

Bangladesh are on the cusp of joining India in the Super League, following a comfortable seven-wicket win over Scotland in Group C.

Spinner Rakibul Hasan took a stunning hat-trick, as the Scots were bowled out for 89 at Witrand Oval in Potchefstroom.

Bangladesh reached the target in 16.4 overs, though Scotland did force a fightback with a sterling three-for-27 bowling performance from seamer Sean Fischer-Keogh, before Mahmudul Hasan Joy's 35 not out steered his side home.

Victory leaves the south Asian nation top of Group C with four points, and a place in the Super League could be theirs as soon as tomorrow should Pakistan beat Zimbabwe - a result which would also see Pakistan progress.

Tomorrow's other matches see New Zealand face Sri Lanka in Group A, while in Group D, hosts South Africa meet Canada, while Afghanistan go up against the United Arab Emirates.
