The World Taekwondo Demonstration Team is enjoying major television success, making the final of Italia's Got Talent.

Around 2,000 theatre spectators loved the power and skill of the taekwondo athletes, as judge Mara Maionchi secured the team's automatic place in the final by pressing the golden buzzer.

A standing ovation from the judges and the audience followed the performance.

They first auditioned for the reality-TV series in September last year.

Italian record producer Maionchi pressed the buzzer, meaning the Demonstration Team will join 11 other finalists in the competition.

It was a brilliant performance at the Roma 2019 World Taekwondo Grand Prix last year that got the process in motion, with the team having been approached by Federazione Italiana Taekwondo, asking them to participate.

Italia's Got Talent is now in its 10th series and viewed by millions each week.

The final is in Rome on March 6 2020, with a €100,000 (£85,200/$110,000) prize on offer for the champions.
