Commonwealth Games Canada (CGC) has congratulated programmes and operations manager Kelly Laframboise for 30 years of service with the organisation.

Laframboise joined the governing body in 1989 and has led the logistics of Canada's participation at the multi-sport event.

She has been involved in eight Commonwealth Games in total, with her first in Auckland in 1990.

Her role has also seen her work at five Commonwealth Youth Games.

"Kelly's tenure with CGC is a testament to her genuine passion and dedication to making a difference for people and communities through Commonwealth sport," said CGC chief executive Brian MacPherson.

"CGC and Commonwealth sport are lucky to have her, and I know I speak for many in Canada's sport community who say the same."

Before joining CGC, Laframboise worked for Field Hockey Canada.

She is known for her "attention to detail" and "strong work ethic".

"When Kelly first started, I was CGC treasurer," said Bruce Robertson, who has volunteered with the organisation since 1982 and is now vice-president of the Commonwealth Games Federation.

"In those days, volunteers did everything from writing and mailing cheques, to building budgets, to maintaining the books.

"Hard to believe, but Kelly was keen to learn and take on the CGC accounts, something I will be forever grateful for.

"Kelly has always been a hard worker, has excellent judgement, is a calm and steadying influence and is full of integrity.

"I hope she knows she will never be allowed to retire."
