Marius Lindvik of Norway triumphed at the second Four Hills Tournament event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to end Ryoyu Kobayashi's unbeaten streak dating back to 2018.

The 21-year-old claimed the first International Ski Federation Ski Jumping World Cup win of his career at the Große Olympiaschanze in the German resort.

He scored a total of 289.9 points to win, with yesterday's leader in the qualifying round, Karl Geiger of Germany, finishing second on 285.0.

David Kubacki of Poland was in third place with 284.0 points.

Lindvik's victory prevented Kobayashi from claiming his sixth successive title in the Four Hills Tournament.

The Japanese jumper had secured a clean sweep in last season's Four Hills Tournament and topped the podium in the opening event of the new campaign, in Oberstdorf, on Sunday (December 29).

He could only manage a fourth-place finish today, however, with 282.1 points.

Kobayashi is still ahead in the Four Hills standings, though, on 587.2, but his lead over Geiger has been reduced to just 6.3 points.

Kubacki is third on 578.7 points.

The Four Hills Tournament is due to continue in the Austrian city of Innsbruck on Friday and Saturday (January 3 and 4).
