A shortlist of five names for November's Allianz Athlete of the Month award has been released by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) - with three of the contenders being track and field athletes.
Germany's Johannes Floors, Petrucio Ferreira of Brazil and Japan's Maya Nakanishi are all in with a chance of the award, along with Dutch wheelchair tennis athlete Diede De Groot and Australian wheelchair basketballer Shaun Norris.
So far this year, only swimming has produced more than one Athlete of the Month, with Spain's Antoni Ponce being honoured in June, and Britain's Alice Tai in September.
Floors became the fastest blade runner in history with a new world 100 metres record of 10.55sec in the T62 class at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships.
Ferreira broke the men's 100m T47 world record, setting the fastest mark ever at a World Para Athletics Championships.
Nakanishi stunned the field when she triumphed in the women's long jump T64 in her last attempt to win her first World Championship gold medal.
De Groot won her third successive NEC Wheelchair Singles Masters title a day after clinching the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters.
She therefore ended 2019 with three grand slam singles titles and the singles Masters.
Team captain Norris led the Australian national team to the 2019 Asia Oceania Championships gold medal to secure their spot at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
He personally averaged 15.9 points per game.
Fans can vote now - and until December 16 - for the winner via the IPC homepage.
The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) and International Federations (IFs).
