Sofia Leino and Veera Kauppi each scored four of Finland's goals at the Swiss town's Halle de sport de la Riveraine, while Oona Kauppi bagged three, Johanna Homi registered two and there was one apiece for Mia Vallenius, Laura Manninen and Ella Sundstrom as well as an own goal.

Victory sees Finland end Group A on four points prior to the last game in the section between Poland and hosts Switzerland tomorrow.

Switzerland also have four points, while Poland have two.

The top two teams will go directly through to the last eight and the side ranked third will have to go through the play-off round along with Germany. 

In Group B, Sweden secured their place in the quarter-finals by beating Czech Republic 10-2.

Slovakia bounced back from their thrashing at the hands of Sweden on Saturday (December 7) to defeat Latvia 7-5.

Norway completed a perfect campaign in Group C by edging Japan 2-1.

They will meet the bottom-placed side from Group B in the play-off round on Wednesday (December 11).

In Group D, Australia and Singapore both made it two wins out of two today.

Australia overcame Thailand 4-1 before Singapore claimed a 7-2 victory over the United States.

Group-stage action is due to conclude tomorrow.
