The International Skating Union (ISU) Speed Skating World Cup season is set to resume this weekend, with the third leg in Kazakhstan's capital Nur-Sultan.

The Alau Ice Palace will play host to three days of competition through to Sunday (December 8).

Tomorrow's action will see medals awarded in the women's 1,000 metres, men's 500m, women's 5,000m and the men's and women's team sprints.

On Saturday (December 7), the women's 500m, men's 1,000m and men's 10,000m events will take centre stage.

Competition will conclude on Sunday with the men's and women's 1,500m and team pursuits.

Belarus' capital Minsk and Tomaszów Mazowiecki in Poland staged the first two legs of the ISU Speed Skating World Cup season last month.

The World Cup series started in 1985 and usually consists of six or seven events, including the Final. 

The events take place across North America, Europe and Asia.
